New Dietary Ingredient Notification Service
A “New Dietary Ingredient” (NDI) is a dietary ingredient or finished product that is considered novel and was not marketed in the United States prior to October 15, 1994. The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requires manufacturers of NDIs to submit New Dietary Ingredient Notifications (NDINs) to complete the necessary pre-market notification process to legally market your product in the US.
BCI has a proven track record of successful NDIN submissions and will work with your organization every step of the way. Our experienced team will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements until your NDIN is successfully filed with the US FDA.
Old Dietary Ingredient Dossier. Qualify your ingredient for NDI exemption. We provide the documentation to show that your ingredient does not require an NDIN.

Education in Biodiversity Conservation & Botanical Products Development
BCI and The North Carolina Arboretum originally joined together to help extend the Arboretum’s conservation and biodiversity education mission elements through fostering economic development from plant-based wellness products sourced or made in WNC. Over the nearly 20 years since BCI’s inception, the role of educating growers, forest landowners, young people, and start-ups to medium-sized company stakeholders has remained a key facet of BCI’s presence at the Arboretum. We will continue to educate interested TNCA-affiliated constituencies about the uniquely biodiverse wellness-rooted history, economy, and scientific & technical basis for making botanical wellness products. All of which is part of the WNC region’s legacy.
